It is time to welcome and embrace a new year. 2017 has been a difficult year, in many different ways, but approaching a new year, we may look foward to new beginnings, new commitments and new joys. Also, new heartaches and difficulties, but I know without a shadow of a doubt, that my God, the almighty, triune, soverign God of the universe, YHWH Elohim, is holy and righteous and just, always merciful and the source of love, and will lead me along the way to a better me and a closer and more intimate relationship with Him. I know that he loves me with a holy love indescribable, and I take comfort, courage and expectation in the fact that He "works everything together for the good of those who love Him, to those who are called according to His purpose" (Rom 8:28, paraphrased). I know that I have been called according to His great purpose, and that I love Him because He first loved me, and by His Spirit freely gave me eternal life in His holy presence, because of His holy sacrifice on the cross 2000 years ago.
